By teaching proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment and concentration on smooth, flowing movement, you get in tune with your body and learn how to control it. Pilates improves flexibility, body awareness, good posture and strengthens the core by training the minor muscles to create a strong foundation to build upon without excessive bulk.

Classical Massage

Western technique that uses tissue manipulation to release muscular tension soothes aches and pains, improve circulation, detoxify the body and ultimately promote relaxation and general wellbeing. It can be relaxing or reviving and pressure can be adjusted depending on your request.

 

Deep Tissue Massage

A type of classical massage aimed at the deeper tissue structure of the muscle and fascia- also called conncective tissue. It is a more intense experience than the classical massage but also works more curatively for chronic pain or stiffness. The massage is focused on the problem areas, releasing tension and knots also known as adheasions, in the muscles. Slower strokes and more direct friction is applied to the affected area. A deep tissue massage can feel sore afterwards and is seen as a more medical treatment than a purely relaxing massage. However if chronic pain is relieved, the ensuing relaxation and well being is much greater than with a softer massage.

Aromatherapy massage

The powerful properties of essential oils combined with gentle Swedish massage are used to relax body and mind, balance the emotions, soothe tired muscle after exercise, nourish the skin or revive, stimulate and purify the body. Deep tissue techniques, acupressure and stretching can be incorporated into the treatment depending on your need.

 

Holistic Massage

 

A gentle massage focused more on relieving mental stress and physical tiredness than working on muscle knots. Holistic massage uses long gentle strokes with warm oil to promote deep relaxation. As opposed to classical massage, the strokes go from the head towards the feet instead of towards the heart.

Most stress is stored around the head, shoulders and neck and so stroking in the direction of the feet can give a wonderful sensation of all your stress being slowly stroked out of your body through the feet. The relaxation after a holistic masage is physically and mentally therapeutic as well as imparting a sense of lightness and new energy. 

Foot Reflexology

An Asian massage working on the same principles as Shiatsu and Acupuncture. Enhance your health and reduce everyday stress with a reflex zone foot massage. The zones on the feet can positively affect the part of the body within that zone. Foot reflexology can treat many symptoms such as headache, backache, asthma, sinusitis while it boosts the circulation system and restores balance in the body.      The session begins with a relaxing massage using oil, then the oil is removed and the reflex zones in the feet are stimulated.
