By teaching proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment and concentration on smooth, flowing movement, you get in tune with your body and learn how to control it. Pilates improves flexibility, body awareness, good posture and strengthens the core by training the minor muscles to create a strong foundation to build upon without excessive bulk.
